About

Hi, I am Noli Kat. A fulltime chronically ill, psychologically ‘fragile’ person with a nasty habit of making art about this.

Most of my work are forms of autobiographical storytelling as Frida Kahlo once said: ‘’because I am so often alone and I am the subject I know best”

After a burn-out due to excessive activism and childhood trauma left me bed-based for several years with the stigmatised illness ME/CFS I started creating self-portraits in order to survive the pain of my daily reality and to advocate for my community (spoiler twist: we are still being screwed).

I try to use humor, glamour and vulnerability to open up topics people struggle talking about such as suicidality, illness, disability, capitalism, ableism, the dutch benefits system, being in a mental health institution, domestic violence, child abuse and more.

My dream for my work is to inspire people to find solace in each other and join the struggle for collective liberation.

My current creative mediums are performance art, theater, film (acting, writing) and ‘Lie-Down’ Comedy but I have been known to dabble in a little burleske and am always open to explore my horizons and collab.

I am based in Dreamscapes, Fantasy, Cyberspace and the Netherlands.
